How does Produce Mate work?

Produce Mate is antimicrobial. It fights the bacteria that usually accelerates spoilage, resulting in longer lasting fruits and vegetables. Our proprietary blend of all-natural, antimicrobial minerals is baked right into the silicone and should last for at least two years! Simply place one on the counter top or in the crisper drawer of your fridge, and the mat will handle the rest.
How do I use Produce Mate?

Produce Mate is extremely straight forward. Simply place one in the fridge or on the countertop and it'll handle the rest! That said, Produce Mate works best when placed in the cripser drawers in your refrigerator, and with fruits and vegetables loaded directly on top of it (not in seperate containers or bags). It's made of flexible, cuttable silicone, and can be cut-to-fit just about any fruit bowl or fridge drawer!
What is Produce Mate made of?

Produce Mate is 100% food safe and ready to use right out of the package. Plus, sililcone is a long-lasting and durable material. We're fighting throw-away culture by building products that last.
When do I have to replace my Produce Mate?

You can expect at least two years out of your Produce Mate! Note that our materials deteriorate every year, meaning that your mat may become less effective over time.
How can I ensure my Produce Mate is working as well as possible?

There are a few things you can do to maximize the effectiveness of your Produce Mate. 1) Put it in the refrigerator rather than on the counter top. The counter top works as well, but the contained environment of your crisper drawer helps. 2) You'd be doing your produce a huge favor by separating ethylene absorbers and emitters. Can I cut my Produce Mate?

Yes! Those lines running across the mat were designed specifically with you in mind. Feel free to cut, fold and bend your Produce Mate to your hearts content. DISCLAIMER: You MAY see worse results from a smaller mat (we're still testing this!)
Is Produce Mate recyclable?

Unfortunately Produce Mate cannot be tossed into your recycle bin. Instead, we're implementing a send-back upcycle program. Just ship us your mat and we'll find a good way to upcycle or reuse the mat!
What is your packaging made out of?

Firstly, we try to never double-package our mats. Our mailers are our packaging! They are made of 100% recycled paperboard - 90% of which is post-consumer recycled content. Each mailer is fully recyclable and will even naturally biodegrade over time!
